Season Updates
August 12th, 2007
We had some great guests this week. The Royse family was up here and caught
some monster Ling Cod and they caught one of the largest Red Snappers we have
seen all season. We got to see whales, porpoises, and nearly every fish species out
there in the ocean. The weather was incredible this week. The salmon fishing
has been really good with some very chaotic moments when we're on a hot bite.
The Coho Salmon are getting quite chunky and are still getting larger.
Jon and I went scouting for bear and we found five bear in one clearcut. They
were all feeding on the berries that are all over this time of year. We also saw a
bear with a cinnamon crest on its back and shoulders eating grass in a meadow.
This time of year the deer are higher up on the hills feeding in the meadows
above timberline. The season for non-residents opens Wednesday.
