Season Updates
August 30th, 2007
The Halibut fishing has been tougher than normal this year but we have had a
good week so far. Our guests have had plenty of action releasing many Halibut
while also getting a limit to take home each day.
The Salmon fishing is good and the Coho are starting to head up the streams in
good numbers. There are still a lot of Pink Salmon to catch and they are always
good for lots of action. We have had rain for several days so the rivers are rising
and the fish are moving. The Coho fishing should be very good this week.
Many of the Black Bears are still up in the clear cuts eating berries. It is late to
still have berries but they are working their way down to the streams to eat
salmon. The rain should push the salmon up to where the bears can fish easily.
So for the next week the bears will be scattered out between the clear cuts and
the streams. The deer are still up high feeding in the open meadows above the
thick timber.
